What the Hooligan Family Says

★★★★★

Jenn became my team's coach a few years ago when I started agility foundations. I continued weekly classes, fun matches, sport puppy class and extra training.

Her sessions and fun matches are very well organized and executed. She is easily able to accommodate a variety of breeds and handler styles, skills, and abilities by identifying highlights and challenges within their team.

She is extremely skilled and her approach to force free sport training was fun, engaging and enjoyable for handlers and pups. Recommend 10/10.

I took a foundation agility class with Jenn with my dog when he was a puppy and it was fantastic! The exercises were super fun, well explained and Jenn was always happy to adjust the exercises as needed for my shy puppy. Highly recommend for anyone looking to get into dog sports or if you just want to have a great time working with your dog.

I have been taking agility classes with Jenn for close to three years! I have a very stubborn blue heeler and there have been a lot of frustrating moments, but Jenn is always there with encouragement and wisdom. Thanks to her, my connection with my dog has grown so much. She has an incredible wealth of knowledge and I can't recommend her enough!

I've taken Jenn's puppy foundation classes as well as her agility classes over the last few years. The one thing I'm continually impressed by is Jenn's knowledge — not only in the sport of agility itself and her ability to teach it so effectively, but her amazing understanding of your dog's behaviour. She always manages to get the most out of you and your dog in every training session in a safe and fun way. Jenn also implements methods that focus on positive reinforcement, body awareness, and balance in your dog's training which really helps build your dog's confidence when learning more difficult agility skills. My dogs not only learn a ton in her classes, but most importantly they have so much fun. If you're looking to learn the sport of agility and create a solid bond with your dog, take a class from Jenn — you won't regret it!

Frequently Asked Questions

Generally it's a good idea if you have done at least a basic life skills class with your dog. This will introduce them to working in a group and give you a good foundation to build your agility skills on. If you have not taken a basic life skills class before but believe that your dog has the basic training to do agility, feel free to email so we can talk about your options.

Not at all! Many people enjoy taking classes purely as a way to bond with their dog in a fun way, while giving their dog invaluable mental and physical stimulation. While competing can be a fun way to take your training to the next level, it is far from the only way to enjoy this sport.

Agility is open to all dogs regardless of breed or age. The only thing we require is that your dog be physically sound. Purebred, mixed breed, rescue dog, old dog, young dog — we welcome everyone.

In the beginning all you will need is your pup, their favourite toys, and a big pile of treats. As you progress you will want to fashion or buy some basic equipment, but there are lots of low-budget ways to practise from your own backyard.
